is there an adapter that allows one to run a stock yota drive shaft to a dana 44?

Two more choices to think about:

1.
Swap the D44 yoke with an Isuzu D44 pinion flange (about $45 new from St. Charles) and an Isuzu driveshaft flange (you've probaly already got one from your original driveline). You need a flange for an Isuzu u-joint (inside snaprings), not a 1310 u-joint (outside snaprings). Isuzu used both. The Isuzu driveshaft flange will fit the Toy u-joints and bolt right up the the D44 pinion flange.

2.
Use a 1310 / Toy conversion u-joint from Rockford driveline. Take off the flange and u-joint from the Toy driveshaft and use this one to connect it to a 1310 D44 yoke (assuming the D44 has 1310 yokes of course).
