When was the last time you did scheduled maintenance, ie spark plugs, air filter, etc. And what are you getting in terms of MPG? What type tires/size are you running? Do you have a roof rack? What type of drivign do you do - highway, city, offroad? Standard or auto? How many miles on the truck? Original engine?

Last time was about 1 month ago, and spark plugs, distributor cap, air filter, cables (spark plugs), motor oil, etc, was changed. The car is making like 15 MPG <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />. The tires are 33x12.50/r15. No roof rack. The driving is 50/50. Automatic transmission. 128,422 miles on the truck. Yes, the engine is the original.
Now, I begin to have another problem: when the engine is cold and started, the engine sounds like if there werw 150 smurffs banging pipes against it, the car hesitates, the rpm 1300, that is without drive it, once in the road it feels like if the emergency brake was pulled, it feels tired, does it has to do with the consumption.
I really apreciatte all the help you are giving me.
Regards. BYron

What kind of mileage are you seeing per tank?

Are you correcting for the oversize tires? Remember that your speedo gear is made for 235-75s. 33s are quite a bit bigger, so your indicated speed/mileage will be out by 15% or so...

yes, it is corrected. But the MItsu has had the same tires before and after the change in the mileage. Does anybody knows if OS could make the change, I change the OS like 1 month ago, due to the ssame problem, but after the change the consumption increased.

You still haven't mentioned what type of tires. And for that matter, what air pressure are you running. I realize this is not the "fix" you're looking for, but MPG is such a wide-open thing, and there are many factors which can contribute... If your mileage dropped to 2/3 of what it was, then it could indicate a problem, but it could also indicate a change in driving habits, terrain, equipment, etc. But all things being equal, and assuming everything else checks as "normal" when was the last time, if ever, that you had your fuel system serviced, ie throttle body cleaned, injectors flushed, etc? This can affect gas mileage, but its typically a gradual decline, rather than a sudden drop...
