Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone would know where I could find or would be interested in selling a Lock Nut Wrench (Part No. MB990954-01) and/or Hub Bolt Remover (Part No. MB991618-01). These tools are used to remove the front hubs and wheel stud on a Gen II montero. Thanks.

I took the lockring with me to my local auto parts store, and matched it up with a 3/4t GM socket (GM one has 4 teeth). Bought it, brought it home and grinded off the two extra teeth on the socket. Works fine.

Well if the lock nut wrench is not needed, how do you get the lock nut off the front to remove the rotors?

If you dont have the tool. How do you torque it down to spec when you go to put it together?

Are you talking about a wheel locknut? If so easiest way to get that thing off is a 3/4 socket or 12 point wrench and a sledgehammer <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />

He's talking about the hub locknut.

You can remove it by lightly tapping it with a screwdriver and hammer. It will come off easily enough.

Technically you're supposed to tighten it to a specific torque amount though so this is where the wrench will come in handy however, I have seen many instances where this wasn't done w/out any harm but you need to take that w/ a grain of salt and make your own call.

The chevy socket does work when ground down and has been noted on this and other forums.

I will be working on this part of my Raider soon. Please show a pic of how you would use a screw driver to get it off. I have never dug into the hubs myself.
