It'll probably be the 3rd one. The key is the diameter and unfortunately I don't recall it. I'll try to remember to measure it when I get home this evening. Feel free to remind me if I forget. You can also buy a grinder, use it for this, then return it. Not something I would normally do simply because tools usually come in handy later down the line but then again, I have had to do it in a pinch when I visited an ex gf at her dorm and she needed help hanging something heavy in her room and I didn't have a drill/bits with me. Hard to say exactly from pics, as the opposing pins obviously need to be spaced right. The last one with six looks like what I bought. Every other thread here that I have read also used the six-pin as a start. i am sure I paid under $15 for mine, but that was over five years ago at least. There is a Toyota one that has two pins at hte right distance, but it is too shallow. It has to be a deep socket for ours.

You should (might?) be able to cut the pins off a Chevy one with a hack saw. Postage two ways to borrow will cost almost as much as the tool. I'll look at mine tonight and see if it has enough clearance between the pins to lay a blade in there. this one seems to be what you guys have recommended, so as long as i can saw 4 of the ends of i should be in good shape. You want the one for 3/4t ford or 3/4-1t GM, 6 point, hacksaw off 4 of the points, leaving two opposite points, use a file to smooth down th stubs, or just file off 4 of them. Also, a good 4" grinder is around $40, with a million uses. The K-D hub wrench is about $20 online. A hacksaw blade will fit.
The easiest way to take it loose is two pin punches in the nut holes and a lever. Forget torque settings. Take it off, replace the rotor, tighten the snot out of it to settle the bearing, back it all the way off, tighten just past where the wobble disappears and it starts to get tight, and you're done.

I took the lockring with me to my local auto parts store, and matched it up with a 3/4t GM socket (GM one has 4 teeth). Bought it, brought it home and grinded off the two extra teeth on the socket. Works fine.
PHIL I did this too. Had the tool from when I owned a few GM 4x4s. Sold the last one 24 years ago (a 1972 GMC 1/2 ton with Q78s) so I figured I wouldn't have a short term need for the GM tool :-)
