I've struggled with the OE hubs long enough. There is nothing more frustrating than pulling a grade in the mountains and hearing the on again off again clunk clunk as the hubs go in and out. I've replace the hoses you name it, these hubs suck. I differ to the brain trust of this group and would like to know where is the best outlet for purchasing the Warn Manual hubs?

Advance Auto Parts can get them in 2 - 3 business days for around $103 for a pair of hubs.

Carquest in Seattle was able to source some overnight, no place in Chicago has heard of imports and nothing comes faster than 2-3 days. Depends on your area I guess, Durango ought to have some place that has some on hand. Isn't that the 4-Wheel capital of the world (Oh wait, that's Silverton huh? LOL)

*Edit - You shall not be disappointed with the Warns my good man, I love mine!

A couple of questions:
1. What is the Warn Hub Part Number ?

2. Are they fairly easy to replace?

3. Are there any special tools or pullers needed to get the original vacuum hubs off and Warn hubs on.

4. What do you do with the old vacuum hoses & connections.

Thanks,
Hank

Ooh! What about the '02 Sportage? No automatic mechanical hub-lock kit?

I think the listing in the Warn catalog - that I copied as is - has not been updated and simply shows as when they last reviewed their catalog.

The automatic mechanical works very very well but - to my judgnemnt - should be restricted to mild environment or mild usage. It will not stand abuse. If you do mud and other hard stuff, take the manuals.

I had a '96 and the auto hubs worked fine until the day I really got stuck and they failed. They failed me many a time so I since got the manuals and I'm a lot happier. Believe me, if you don't want to get stranded or not knowing when they will fail, get the manuals. That way you know they are working.
