If you live in snow country where you'll be driving significant distances in 4WD and on road I recommend you skip the auto hubs and go directly to the manuals. I speak from experience. I had the older 95-97 style autolocking hubs for about 4 years and one of them started to get funky about a year and a half ago and this past December destroyed itself. I never used 4WD on dry or wet pavement and always insured against driveline lockup in tight turns by shifting to 2H.
