Now that Charley and Frances are finished with us here in North FL, I'm proud to report that once again, the Trooper has done it's usual fine job. From carrying an evacuating friend's belongings inland to fording water. Except for that funny feeling when the wind off the ocean picked up the front end as I was coming down off the Vilano Bridge. And in the aftermath getting us over and around fallen trees and pulling downed trees out of the road, it's handled it all. The only negative is that the doors don't seal quite as tightly as before (blame that on 75 mph wind gusts) and now I've got that funky wet smell back again.

In the 2 block area around our home, 30+ trees were downed (9 of those trees went through roofs). They estimate the electricity/phone/etc. (for 28,000 homes) will be out for another 3-5 days. But our prayers go out to those in South FL, who've had it much, much worse

Now we'll just hunker down and wait for Ivan (the Terrible?). <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />

If you go to the Zoo, always take something to feed the animals - even if the signs say "Do Not Feed The Animals". It wasn't the animals that put up those signs!
