Now that Charley and Frances are finished with us here in North FL, I'm proud to report that once again, the Trooper has done it's usual fine job. From carrying an evacuating friend's belongings inland to fording water. Except for that funny feeling when the wind off the ocean picked up the front end as I was coming down off the Vilano Bridge. And in the aftermath getting us over and around fallen trees and pulling downed trees out of the road, it's handled it all. The only negative is that the doors don't seal quite as tightly as before (blame that on 75 mph wind gusts) and now I've got that funky wet smell back again.
In the 2 block area around our home, 30+ trees were downed (9 of those trees went through roofs). They estimate the electricity/phone/etc. (for 28,000 homes) will be out for another 3-5 days. But our prayers go out to those in South FL, who've had it much, much worse
Now we'll just hunker down and wait for Ivan (the Terrible?).
If you go to the Zoo, always take something to feed the animals - even if the signs say "Do Not Feed The Animals". It wasn't the animals that put up those signs!

Good work! How far did the water come up the trooper? To the hood? Do you have a snorkle?

Nothing fancy - just a mostly stock utilitarian vehicle that's never needed many modifications. Water never got higher than the top of the 31's and I'm only lifted 1-2". Definitely boring by the standards on this forum. However, pretty amazing to those people watching that little brick go through "impassable" conditions. The most fun was going around the sky high "mudders" who were afraid to get their mall crusiers stuck.

Ya, when Isable came though last year, i was out after the storm helping to drag trees away and getting people out of the neighbor hood (both access rodas had about a foot of water on them). These Isuzus take a lickin and keep on tickin.
8 inches of lift, 33s, custom bumpers and rockbars, powertrax, T-maxx 9000, lots o lights, and some bass in the trunk
Lifted, locked, and ready to rock!!!
