The kickdown cable needs to be adjusted... That's first on the list. If that don't fix 'er right up, check to see if you have a brake dragging...

The throttle body has nothing to do with the fuel smell... That is a sign of running rich, or the engine is just working too danged hard for some reason.

If those two don't work, check the codes (although some would say this is first, I tend to lean more towards the "I know better than a computer," schooled by experience book). Figger out why the plugs have deposits... Could they have developed when the rig sat forever???
