Jump between T and E1...check engine light should start flashing steady when jumpered correctly.

And what's the best thing to use for jumping? I've tried large paper clips, which *sometimes* work, lately usually not. I think Roger was suggesting using male spade lug connectors, but my jump holes are too small for that (unless I can find some much smaller connectors). It's been a pain to get the thing jumped right. In my Honda car I can jump it no problem, the check engine light starts flashing, and I know I'm ready to time...

Clean some of the dielectric grease stuff out of the terminals so that the paperclip makes good contact. Can also put kinks in the paperclip ends so that wedges against both sides of the terminal. To prevent having to do this every time, store the thing in the slot the diag. box slips over. I always know where mine is.
