Two reasons why I didn't push the rear axle line as well:

1. I already had a front third member complete I could drop on their counter (and did).

2. In Australia and most of the European nations the Sportage came with a LSD. Whilst not ideal, this is better than being open, but not as good as being locked (I agree).

If we can win them over on the front, I will look at sourcing a rear for them to have a look at as well.
