just a suggestion, have them look at a locker for a BroncoII Ford 7.8" rear end. it may be different, but it may be a starting point.

another suggestion- custom axleshafts will NOT be cheaper. the only way to make that financially feasible for US would be to also convert to full-floating rear and disc brakes while doing the locker install.

another possibility is to look at lunch-box lockers, minispools and such for Miata/RX-7's now that we have the info on at least one of them.
