whats up guys?

anyway, someone above talked about a toy 8" center section being 27 spline. this is incorrect. the 8" is 30 spline, the 7.5" IFS and 2wd axle is 27 spline. dana 35's used in jeeps are also 27 spline.

sammy rear ends are 26 spline as stated before, however i dont recall seing the s-10 rear end mentioned. all non-4.3L v6 s10's and s10 blazers had a 26 spline rear end with a 7.25" ring gear. i know lockrights are available for these axles, and maybe detroits.

do kia's have dropout 3rd members like toys or are they like dana axles? if they have dropouts, it may be worth investigating swapping the center section and axle shafts, however once you get that far in, you might as well swap the whole thing.

Hi,

I thought the S-10 Blazers were 7.5/7.6" rears with 7.25 on the front. At least that was what mine was. The big problem is the GM stuff is inch based and the Kia stuff is metric so nothing would quite line up.

I do know that the newer s-10 diff is nowhere even close to the Kia diff. I have one of each in my garage right now.

The Kia is 3rd member front and rear. About 7" ring gear in the front and about 8" ring gear in the rear. Our best hope is that Kia, Mazda and Suzuki all used the same Asian OEM supplier for a better chance of part interchangability. We do know that there is some interchangability between Mazda and Kia but Suzuki is still somewhat of an unknown except for knowing the axle splines are at least within a few 10 thousands of an inch of each other (compared to all years on the front of the Sportage and just the older rears) but we have never been able to compare them side by side. They may very well be exactly the same. There is also the possability thet the rear axles on the newer Sporty (the 28 spline ones) might match the splines of some of the Mitsubishi fronts or Mazda truck rears.

What would be really helpfull would be if someone had the spline section of a Sammy axle or a spare Sammy diff. that they could send to one of us that has a Sportage diff. out on the bench.
