Yeah, Its the backspacing.. You might also find that when your rear tire are tucked they will rub on the frame, wich will restricted your rear wheel travel.Thats how it was on my 85 4runner. You can probably find some basic steel "rockcrawler" rims whith 2 in. backspacing for about $50 a piece. As far as your steering stops go,I would leave it the way it is.I know its an option but I think that you could use all the turning radius you can get. Just my 2 cents....
