I seem to have the same sort of problem... gas is leaking from somewhere, and I'm going to need to drop the tank to figure out where.
Does anything need to be depressurized before I start disconnecting the lines to the tank?

The only pressure in the tank will be relieved when you take the gas cap off. There is pressure in the fuel rail but that is held by the fuel pressure regulator and shouldn't effect the tank.
