LSD in the rear wear out quickly off road. The standard ones give you only 70 ft-lb of torque to the other side. I wore mine out in 6 months. THe Rebuild LSD Kits are availabale from the stealer. They had kits for different levels of "wear" so yes you can (I did) beef up your LDS based upon the spring spacers you select, or something like that. I'm not sure I would recommend this for highway use.

The Toyota rear axle is almost a bolt on. You will need to weld on new spring perches. 8 years ago I swaped in an 8" Toy with a 4.56 ratio and a Detroit Soft Locker. I love it.
So now I have the Detroit in the rear and the LSD in the front. email me if you want specifics.
