Solarcrew...take the harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley) off and it will all make sense. Witht the pulley laying on its face and its shaft sticking in the air ( <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> ) slip the unlipped end over the shaft ( <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> ) and tap it down until the lip contacts the end of the shaft.

Its a sleeve, the lip keeps it from sliding to far down your shaft....errr well the crank pulleys shaft.
