All the Mk1 imports (ex Japan) here in South Africa have rear disc brakes, but leaf springs. Calipers have a major flaw though. Non-Mitsubishi pads slip out of the caliper once it has worn down to a certain stage. Results in no brakes and often jams between caliper and wheel. Genuine parts hard to come by!
