When I first got my 4Runner the key switch did not work. I took it apart and cleaned it and it worked.(tricky to get to but not too hard once you figure it out) Then, every once in awhile I would get problems again. I traced them to the safety switch at the tailgate latch. Finally jumped the thing. Now I can roll out my window with the tailgate down. Not really a good thing except for working on the window mechanism. I did roll it all the way out on accident once. Luckily no harm done. Did kinda scare me though.
