Impressive!!
I would have thought for sure you'd have had a problem sealing each runner, when it was welded. And, that would have lead to some bypass between the runners. Which would have been noticable in some way....rough idle, stumbling during a certain RPM range....something.
You should get DOA heads AND a ported TB. Those would be a nice compliment to the ported manifold....or vice-a-versa.
I think regardless you should get a dyno test done......See what the results really are.

Out of curiousity... any increase in fuel efficiency? You planning to get it dyno'd?
Brian K. Gallus I have nothing important to say.

For what it's worth, even if the runners did not seal back up completely with the rewelding, air going between runners is no big deal. Look at the siamesed runners that SLP made for the Chevy 350 TPI engines. I'm wondering why you didn't just have the manifold Extrude Honed to increase and smooth out the runners. Other than the cost.

Here is a good reason against extrude hone I think. http://www.extrudehone.com/price_list2.pdfIm into my manifold for about $100 not counting my time playing with it.

So Ganoid, when you did this did you install it with other mods or on its own? If on its own how did you find the performance compaired to other mods you have done?
I'm trying to be a bit more agressive with mine but I wanna gauge the expected gains.

I also noticed that you haven't got your EGR on there. Have you been getting the CEL at all?

The EGR on mine created a huge flat spot around 2000-2700 (I removed it months before the manifold project). I plan on reinstalling it with some minor modifications but just have not made it around to doing so. When I put the manifold on it was a single upgrade deal. A few days later I installed a Jacobs Ignition system. Like the article said the manifold showed gains in all the unexpected areas (1800-3200 rpm). It could be that the manifold made gains up top as well and those where only apparent with the new ignition. I must say I was pretty darn happy with the truck but after my recent purchase and transition to "The Dark Side" I gotta say the 3.0 sucks. If Toyota would just put a motor like I have in my recently acquired 02 Maxima then I would be one happy camper. For what its worth I have never actually driven a stock 3.0 so I'm not a real good judge on performance increase. I just know on my already modified motor the manifold was totally worth it.
