Although Im strongly against automatic transmissions...I have seen them on TV!LOL

*Seriously though-sounds like a tough break.
USED vs. REBUILT
Used transmission is what is in your rig right now. Same goes for the manual transmission in my truck-it has mileage on it, wear and tear etc...USED.
Rebuilt is a USED transmission that has been torn down, had the gears and shafts inspected, and in your case had the bands, valves etc replaced. Tolerences are brought back to as close as new as possible. USED generally comes out of a wrecked vehicle (be careful here) and carry little or no warrranty. Rebuilt might have come from a wreck, but again...has been taken apart-inspected and re-assembled with new parts, bearings and seals. REBUILT will generally carry at least a 12month/1year warranty against defects.
Hope this helps you some...just make sure that when taking with mechanics-that there is trust there. If they seem to be holding back any info or act shady...go elsewhere. ~Darin <img border="0" alt="[Baby]" title="" src="graemlins/baby.gif" />
