Looks awesome, Dan!

Just to mention another name, www.spidertrax.com has a fair amount of CNC equipment in their 4x4 shop. Both Tom and Eddie are quite experienced with CNC stuff. I don't know if they'd be affordable, but that's just another possibility for you.

Now that's more like it!. ::eerily peers out at the trooper, begins the evil laugh, excellent::. I know how that motors performs without the supercharger (Parents have a 1992 bonneville, and I had a '87) and boy would it be sweet in my trooper. However, my 2.6 is still running strong. So for now, I'll simply stare at yours. Man, 4wd although so beautiful, really makes any engine replacements other than the stock, a pain in the . Either way, best of luck buddy . Keep us posted.

Done a little wiring

I pulled the whole harness out and removed all the EFI wires and the ECM from it one by one (about 2/3 of the wires in the harness). It was bugging me leaving all that crap in there.

I think with the dash out, I'm gonna yank the nasty, filthy, dusty, dirty carpet out too and spray in a bedliner before putting the dash back in.

Got the motor mounts made a couple weeks ago. Here's the mock-ups. I used a cereal box to make the templates, then transfered to steel to get here.

Then pulled the motor back out to brace and finsh them:[Linked Image]

The frame mounts are folded over into a 'U' shape, welded 3 passes on all sides and an additional brace is underneath going around the bottom of the frame rail.

So far, I have the passenger side header tacked up. I'm still waiting for some more pieces to come in. It'll be cut at the bottom and a ball-joint attached to make removal easy. This side really hugs the block so that the cross-over pipe that will attach to it will clear the front driveshaft.

Still working on the driver's side. It's a bit more complicated because of the A/C compressor and starter both being right there.

I'm pretty sure if I walked out to my truck and saw that kind of wiring project ahead of me........... I would be found days later, in the corner curled up in a fetal position

Cool to see the project coming along and good luck........... but dang that's a lot of wires

hehe. Wiring is one of those things that looks awful, but really isn't all that bad. Everything is color coded and as long as you have the factory shop manual calling out wire colors and pin numbers, tracing them pin to pin is really pretty easy. It's time consuming and it can be confusing some times, but really it's not nearly as bad as it looks.

Without the *factory* manual and wiring diagrams??? forget it. You would go nuts.

I think my head just exploded.

Don't you just love working on newer cars?

Good luck with the project, and thanks for the update.

Body Damage is Cool
Are you using the Isuzu harness modified to the 3800 sensors, or the 3800 harness with unused wires removed?
