Are you using the Isuzu harness modified to the 3800 sensors, or the 3800 harness with unused wires removed? Neither, I'm using a MegaSquirt. I didn't cut the EFI wires out of the harness, but removed the pins from their connectors so I could re-use them if I wanted to. I may make a new harness for the MS re-using the stock wires and connectors, but I've already got a harness for it in the truck. Just depends how ambitious I get. --Dan

This has got to be one of the funniest things I have read, especially coming from Dan. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Had a brain fart when I did the passenger side header. I left room to get the spark plug out, but the boots were out-of-sight out-of-mind. I had to bash the #2 tube for the boot to fit: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.houlster.com/amigo/3800sc/images/118_1835.jpg) Decided that was waaay too ugly and restricting, so, cut: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.houlster.com/amigo/3800sc/images/118_1836.jpg) And paste in a new one with more room for the plug boot: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.houlster.com/amigo/3800sc/images/118_1837.jpg) --Dan

Dan, I mean this in the best possible way, but your meticulousnous, attention to detail, and fab skills are SICKENING <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />.
That is freakin amazing, you dont even see the seam in that pipe, that is truly incredible, and a LOT of work for a small adjustment, althouogh very worthwhile...
I am looking forward to seeing your rig in Moab this year, it just keeps gettin better. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Dan, really interested in how the megasquirt worked with your turbo set up. I had the same issues as you while I had the turbo on my trooper, but never got a chance to put my megasquirt on... I used radiator hoses to route my air, and had a big 90 degree going into the compressor inlet... well there was a big spring in the hose to keep it from colapsing... and I was working it around to get underneath and that bastard worked it's way into the turbo.
But I've decided to revisit it, so I need to either source another turbo, or get mine rebuilt.... But I definitely want to squirt it. Always good to get advice from some one who's been there. Was also wondering if you squirt'n'sparked it, looks like it will definitely work.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get those two 'ball and cup' exhaust couplers?
I can't remember the correct name for them, but hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say.
Were they sourced locally, or online?

Dan, really interested in how the megasquirt worked with your turbo set up. Was also wondering if you squirt'n'sparked it, looks like it will definitely work. The MS worked exceptionally well. Biggest improvement was in throttle response. I've got the map if you want to use it. My injectors are larger than the earlier 2.6, but the map itself should be a good starting point for tuning. I never did the S'n'S. I had an MSD BTM ignition that worked ok, and I knew I was going to be doing an engine swap so I didn't work on it. --Dan
