Exhaust is done for the most part. I just need to weld in a couple O2 bungs and it'll be ready to go. The V-band is in front of the flex joint and will make it easy to pull the exhaust if I need to. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.houlster.com/amigo/3800sc/images/118_1859.jpg) I showed some pics to the guys a work and all they did was give me sh!t about the rust all over the heads. So, I spent a day stripping all brackets and such off the motor, wire wheeling the block and heads to get the rust off and re-painted. Just basic black engine paint, but it does look a lot better now. --Dan

Your pictures bring to mind the guy who built a boat in his basement, piece by piece...then when he got done, realized he couldn't get it out. (In this case, it would be the reverse.)
Looks great. Out of curiosity, how big is your garage (1-2-3 car), do you ever fit any vehicles in it or is it a full-time shop now? (Not that it's a bad thing!)
And how did you find such an understanding wife? Every time I mention even changing the oil in 93 BlueMigo, I get the stink-eye about sinking money into it (probably because it keeps outlasting other cars....) If I took away the garage, too I'd hate to think what I'd get! (probably a sleeping bag in the garage).
(Note: To my detriment, I'm both in the National Guard and when I'm not travelling to 3rd world countries for work, I'm traveling to 3rd world countries for mountain climbing fun, which would stretch the nerves of any family-type woman. I've only been robbed by bandits once!)

I've got the map if you want to use it. That would be great! You wouldn't happen to have that old t-bird modified ihi turbo lying around would you... Your exhaust looks great, beautiful welds...what kind of welder are you using? I've heard with forced induction exhaust tuning isn't all that important, but the normally aspirated FSAE car I did the tuning on made a huge difference... Did you do any calculations on this, or did you aim to get the primaries pretty close to equal length and go from there?

just wondering if you still need a source for your adapter plt. I work in a machine shop (cnc). All I would need is your drawing in something that can be converted into mastercam. I might even be able to fine some scrap 6160laying around. just so long as help me if I can ever talk the wife into letting do something like this. Looks awesome.

As always, looks good, Dan.
BTW, what transmission do you intend to fit to the bottom-facing bellhousing?

Dan, I mean this in the best possible way, but your meticulousnous, attention to detail, and fab skills are SICKENING .
hehe, thanks Loco. Out of curiosity, how big is your garage (1-2-3 car), do you ever fit any vehicles in it or is it a full-time shop now? (Not that it's a bad thing!)
And how did you find such an understanding wife? It's a trade-off. She gets the Volvo and I get her POS Storm to drive. She's actually pretty cool about it. It's a 3 car garage and I compress stuff in the summer so we can both park inside. In the winter months though, the truck takes up the whole thing. Your exhaust looks great, beautiful welds...what kind of welder are you using?
Did you do any calculations on this, or did you aim to get the primaries pretty close to equal length and go from there?
It's a Miller 175. Smallest/cheapest 220v MIG they make, but a huge improvement over my old 110v unit. The welds are so-so. Some look decent, others look like pig snot. On thin tubing like this though, the 110 works fine too. I did no design in the headers other than to make them fit. I thought about the "proper" primaries length, equal length, etc, but it'd be a mess to make it work. Things are tight, so I was only concerned with getting an exhaust system that would fit around all the other pieces rather than one for peak performance. just wondering if you still need a source for your adapter plt. I work in a machine shop (cnc). Mike, you have a PM BTW, what transmission do you intend to fit to the bottom-facing bellhousing?
Smarta That's actually Jerry's loaner 2.6 bell that just came off the tranny sitting on it. Dan, you are SICK! Realy hope to see your beast in person one day & to meet you. You're one to talk Rubo Maybe at ZuZoo VIII??? --Dan

Nothing very visually stimulating wiguy is helping me with the adapter plate machining. Just waiting for a chance to squeeze it into his machine shop. I still need to make fuel rails, re-locate the alternator and build a mount for the 2nd A/C compressor on the motor, but those will go quick once I get the IC/adapter. Done a lot of research on heat/sound insulation in the interior. I am planning on pulling the carpet, spraying a ceramic heat barrier, bedliner and some acousting matting in the doors and tranny tunnel. Still looking for some grey/black VX seats. Have about completed a full rebuild on my JY Dana 300. Did some custom grinding on the rear shift rail so I can get FWD HI range (not that I think I'll ever need it, but why not since I'm in there and it's easy?) I also got some additional parts from McMaster and put in oil level sight tubes on the D300 and my Klune. These use the instant push-lock tube connectors, so it'll make filling from a bottle w/tube easy and mess-free. I'm also going to re-do my D300 shifters. One thing I found with my current ones is that I really would like to be able to grab both shifters in one hand to go from Hi to Low and back. As it is, I have to shift one to N first, the other from Hi to Low, then the first one again to Low. 3 shifts. If they're side by side, I can grab both together and shift them together in a single shift. Not a huge deal without a crawler box where you just put it into Low and pretty much leave it there, but with the Klune, I'm constantly shifting the D300 between the Hi & Low depending on if I want the 2.6:1 of the t-case, or the 4:1 of the Klune. --Dan
