Thanks, I'll check, but I've probably already called them. I've been watching car-parts for about a month now and called a few places with no price listed. There's noticibly fewer black/grey seats out there it seems. Most are black/red.

Dan, your work here with this motor swap has inspired me to pick this engine to drop into my truck, and I'm planning on doing it this summer.

I'll hold off on a million and a half questions I'll have for you until I'm sure I'll have the money and resources. But for now I have one simple question.

I have to replace my radiator, and I'd like to put in one that will work for now and later when I do this swap. Do you think the stock radiator is enough for cooling this motor?

I think I have a stock nippon-denso rad cooling my 3.1. I have to replace the damn thing. I will probbaly pick a non-SC motor when the time comes if that makes any difference in radiator selection.

Well this is something i like to hear about! i've been workin on my GTP for the past 3 yrs...after about 7k spent one hell of a ride i ditched it...L67 and L36 and L32 (04 up Grand prix) engines are my specialty...first Dan your wrong on your HP numbers unless you were meaning crank...the fastest Grand prix to this day is a 10.19 fully built race car turbo'd grand prix about 535 crank HP i think it's around 580-600 now...second fastest is a 10.97 with about 410 hp on a stock ported M90...good choice on the engine...these blocks can run FOREVER...easy to replace...and the aftermarket is coming along...if you decide to mod this engine at all..give me a email..i would like to chat with you to make sure that you do it correct and don't blow up your engine!...Griznak32@yahoo.com...have fun and enjoy the "wwwwwwwwwwwwhine"

Hard to say. I had my rad re-cored with a 3-row core 4 or 5 years ago. It's the full 2" or 2.5" thick, whatever the tanks and side brackets are. I will be running an engine driven fan (off an Isuzu 3.2 <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />) and think it'll be enough. I'll replace it later if not.

As for what size to replace it with? The biggest you can fit I'd say, but a new core that is full thickness with the stock tanks and side plates should be fine I think. I can't say yet for sure.

I talked with a radiator shop owner last week when I had mine in for some minor work. He was telling me about some newer technology where they are dimpling the tubes which leads to better cooling by breaking up the flow resulting much better cooling, particularly in high performance applications. The cores that he are using come out of Canada.

I can drop in next week to see if I can get some more info, if you like.

The reason that I mentioned it is that he says that they are able to run single row rads where they used to need two or three row.
