Well, I do expect heat to be much less of an issue than before now that the turbo isn't under there. But, the high pressure area is up very close to the base of the windshield. So long as I keep the scoop short and over the hole in the middle of the hood it will be well in front of the high pressure area I think and should vent well.

But, I kinda like the forward scoops on the turbo diesel Troopers too. 4Runner's have a similar one as well.
