I jack up the side i want to check (left or right) under the A-arm just enough to get the tire off ground then grab the tire on top-bottom as well as sides & shake to feel & see what play you get & where they come from.

When I shaked my right side on the sides of tire, my tie-rod had lots of play inside the boot as well as my lower ball-joint. Oh ya, anti-seize is your friend. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

$35cad for 1 tie rod end.

I spent $250 after all was said and done. All of my parts are aftermarket from Napa. They all seem sturdy except for the adjustment clamp bolts, replaced those with stronger bolts. In alignment right now, hopefully they don't find any other problems.

Is that $250.00 for 4 tie rod ends, new adjusting bolts and 2 sleeves and alignment cost? Does anyone out there know of the best tie rod ends to buy are there beefier ones out there? Priced Moogs at Oreily Inners ar $43. ech, Outers $25. ech. and Adjusting sleeves $12. ech. Been parinoid about tie rod ends latley after reading a few recent posts.
Want peace of mind.

Yep, $250 for all the above.

Paranoid? Recent posts? Has anyone had trouble with aftermarket tie rods? I bought mine from Napa...

Thanks,

Hey Stan, this site is awesome. I downloaded whole manual for my 92 4x4. Way better than Haynes or Chilton! Thanks for the info bro.

Thanks,

No trouble with mine; got 'em from NAPA; going on 2 years now.
