I ran my 96 4Runner without a rear sway bar and it was fine. Front was still connected just because I had not messed with it yet.

My 88 had no rear sway bar to begin with. Now with my SAS I have no front or rear sway bar and it's fine. Although I'm thinking of adding one for when I tow my ATV's and soon my camper.
