Do any of you have trouble with your 33" tires? Can you fit 34/10.5/15 or would that be too big? #518767 10/27/04 04:56 PM

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I was looking at the Swamper LTB's and I saw that you can get them in 34/10.50/15 , Im just wondering if that would be pushing it for fender clearance (off-road). Has anyone used this tire before?

With a 2 in body lift and torsion bar cranking and spring spacers and the right offset rims, they will fit. I once tried on some 35x16 Boggers on my raider with only a 2 in body lift. They rubbed because they were so wide, the height was good.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

I don't know what kind of wheeling you do, but will you have enough gear/power to push them. Also ....Don't plan on driving those LTB's on the street ...they are not exactly round, just ask Curtis.

My opinion, ...but 35's on a SWB are really pushing the limits of safety on the hi-way, and Not really needed unless you wheel some truely extreme rock. I'm looking for a 34"x 10.5" all-terrain type tire for road use, but I have the power, and gear to push them, and they are not yet? avialable in that size.

You can get 255/85R16 which is aproximately 34x10.50R16. Pretty much all of manufactures make that size.

Most of those measure out to be a 33" tsll tire, or at least that is what the tire store said. It would be nice to use the Gn-2 wheels that I have also.
Thanks

They should fit but you may have to trim the corners in order to make turning easy. Your top speed will be like 60 or lower and you gas mileage will suffer. Also you may start snapping u joints and axles shafts in some wheeling conditions. Try it out. No one on this board (that I know of) has done it so trial and error. Oh and tell me if you float.

2 of my 4 33X3.50 LTB's were out of round. Just bad tires.

I have seen LTB's that were all perfect, BUT do not expect that.

Eddy Adams (Georgia) son ran 34x9.5's I believe (different guy than Fast Eddy) but that was several years ago before his son joined the Corp's. and I haven't seen any posts from E. Adams or his son in quite some time nor do I clearly recall what he did but I recall that his 2door 2.6 monty/raider did not need a body lift to run that setup and I don't believe there were any major clearance issues, but again that was a couple of years ago.

I know Lloyd runs 35's on his SWB, but he does the wheeling to warrant them, and has the gears to turn them! 33's should be plenty for just about anything short of scaling sheer walls!

I know Lloyd runs 35's on his SWB..

But lets not forget that Lloyd's running a 2-3" suspension lift in back, torqued torsion bars, and a 3" body lift.
