Yeah- with my luck I'd crush something jacking up the engine. I live in the south and we don't have much call to use road salt down here. The plugs on the Dif have been easy to remove so the bolts shouldn't put up too much of a fight (shouldn't 've said that- knock on wood)
If there is anything else I should look out for while doing this- Holler-

Five bolts and the diff drops down and then it is smooth sailing. you obviously do not live in the rust belt... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Are those five bolts- four from the drivers side driveshaft to differential and the one mounting bolt?
I was thinking I would have to disconnect both drive shafts, support them somehow and disconnect the mounting bolt- then lower the dif.
Is it ok to just disconnect one side and lower it?
Sorry if I am being an idiot. Guess I am spoiled. All the repairs I have done to my runner have been very neatly outlined on this site. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

You know all of this jack the engine up at the righ angle, hold your month in a certain way while your sister removes the oil pickup sounds like a lot more work then doing it the right way!!!! Five bolts and the diff drops down and then it is smooth sailing. You do not have to remove the diff, just drop it down. Do it the way it is meant to be done!!! You do need a floor jack to support and drop th diff down!!!! Good luck!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> That's what the FSM says to do (lift trans/motor up); at least on my year truck. SAS may be different though. Regards, Indy
