Correect. My '85 is a solid front axle. Your '87 is an IFS. Thanks to 4Crawlers help, rears and fronts (diffs) on solid axle trucks are identical. Almost any REAR diff will fit your rear. Your front is different though (IFS). But the good news, is that swapping your front on the IFS with 4.88 differential assembly is cheaper. $90 and mabe $25 to ship? Plus, they are Toyota gears, already set-up and broke in? You really cant go wrong.
