Man, I'm not sure about anything now. The vertical cable I referred to is the Trans Pressure Control or something like that and I can disconnect to tweak the idle but that seeminly has not a whole lot to do with the problem at hand .
But I swear I'm hearing an airleak somewhere within the intake. I tried to check all the hoses/lines today while I had the throttle body off but apparently I missed something or I'm hearing things
I disconnected and plugged the EGR vacuum line and the Canister Purge Valve, and disconnected the VSV electrical connection to adjust the idle but after three complete turn backwards it was no better with each turn. It would idle higher initially after each turn and then get irratic again. After three turns I figured there was something more to the picture. Tomorrow I will turn it back the other way and start from scratch.
Before I disconnected all that crap, I did notice that I can hear the VSV click on and off at around 900 and 1100. I never noticed that before and I'm wondering if this is par for the course or not.
Here's a question for all you 'Zu-Guru's...can I disconnect the fan so as to hear what I think I'm hearing more clearly? If so, I would have to remove it right? (or wrong cuz isn't that connected to the alternator as well?) Guess I'm thinking this too hard or something. If it's possible I wouldn't run it that way but just temporarily so I can hear better while tweaking the seaminly untweakable ???
I admit defeat for one night only....had enough....need a break But I shall be back in the trenches of the dark and forboding dungeon some of us call......."the garage"........
.......That is, of course, if your garage is in a cold climate, with a wood-planked floor, one dusty window, no real elbow room, no heat, hibernating barn spiders, and most of the tools you own in a Walmart-special toolbox kinda garage...or the much more tool-equipped, dead-mans pit, cold climate, 2-car, no heat, 4-dusty window type garage. (where are the smiley's that cry anyways?)
No doubt...thank goodness for kids....I am, at this very moment, listening to the "hampster dance" which my kids downloaded on my computer during a visit just for a moment such as this... If you don't know it, I strongly suggest you get it cuz it can work wonders on a frazzled and frustrated mind
K, I got off subject there...needed a little comic relief
