Thanx Joe, you SO coulda messed with me about it being so simple but you didn't. Yeah, I shoulda checked that cap more thoroughly, and maybe it wasn't the ONLY problem but it sure coulda saved me a WHOLE LOTTA TIME, TROUBLE, AND MONEY...if I'd been more careful.

You are one of the many friends I've made along the way and I very much appreciate all your input always...

dawn...

Roll Me Over
I did the same thing once on my old 88 Pathfinder...middle of winter, out of town visiting friends in Duluth, wouldn't start, flooded. Spent all day New Years Day in the cold changing plugs, oil, etc., still no joy. Still flooding. Eventually threw my hands up and had it towed to the dealer the next day.

Turned out to be...you guessed it: Distributor cap. Boy was I kicking myself ...for less than $10 coulda swapped that cap just in case, but I was convinced it was something else.

Oh well, live and learn

that kinda reminds me of drving my car for a few months losing power week after week, until my mustang 5.0 had less get-up-and-go than my minivan

found out those cheap plug wires, I bought to save money did it
I was gonna replace them since it was a year, even though I usually dont replace them every year, I just got lucky I guess....

I mean , I was about to go to the expense on checking fuel injectors and such, but unlike you, I didnt have the money (at all) or resources...(your going to school for this, from what I have been reading) live and learn I say

and then forget so you can learn something new everyday

not being smart or anything ( I got a weird sense of humor nobody gets sometimes
