Tranny guy popped her open today and the tranny is shot and so is the clutch. Sure wish the pre-purchase inspection at the Toyota dealership had turned these problems up as well as the slightly leaking water pump and the oxygen sensor that was starting to go out. 3 months after buying the truck I've got at least $2,500 in repairs. Nice.

Have you talked to the stealership you bought it from? Hate to say it, but if you threaten some legal action they're likely to play ball; at the very least cover some %... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I didn't buy the vehicle from a dealership but from an out of state private party. Just had the private party take the vehicle to a Toyota dealership to do a pre-purchase inspection so I don't have any recourse against the dealership.

If they signed off on it as the tranny being in good condition, you sure do...

I'll take a look at the inspection report when I get home. If I remember right the inspection report didn't say what was right only what was wrong. All fluids need to be changed, replace front brakes, replace idler arm, 7/32nd's remaining on tires. That sort of thing.
In any event, it certainly wouldn't hurt to make a call to the dealership and see what they have to say.
