Need a Spot
Yes I did have a rupture, well a slow leek and then it just opened up one day, so pretty close to, but not exactly a full blown out rupture.

I know my master was good before the brake line problems, and I do know about the whole compressing the mc too far during bleeding might ruin seals thing but seeing as how my brakes went out wile driving I had already hit the peddle to the floor a couple of times. plus I bleed them about 5-6 months ago the two-man-way, compressing the peddle all the way to the floor multiple times with no damage, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to bleed them this way again.

I was using the fsm order, but not the lsv because I wasn't gaining any pressure so I just kept going around the wheels--the other time I bleed them I don't remember bleeding the lsv then either and it worked fine.

I think what IÆm going to try now is to go bleed them again in order and also bleed the lsv last (IÆll have to look for the release on it, I don't remember seeing one?and if that doesn't work than IÆll just rebuild the master.

Thanks for the help guys -Corey

Body Damage is Cool
took my mc about a week to go bad after my brake line went (and i successfully replaced the line and bled the brakes).

i think the seals can pick up some dirt, but not tear immmediately. then, after moving back and forth with the dirt on them for awhile, they tear.

anyway, good luck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

ok. I bleed my brakes again

Shaun, you were right it was my lsvp, foolish mistake to not bleed it the first time! it was holding air....so I bleed it and then went around again, bleed all the wheels and the lsvp again.

The brakes work now but not well. on the first push of the peddle the brakes hardly engage at all and the peddle stops about half way down, second press (wile still rolling) starts to work and the third pump works well....by then the brakes are working as they should. Is there still air some where?? on the third pump when the brakes are working they are not squishy...thats why I don't think its air.

Any more ideas? Thanks for all the posts ya'll. -Corey

hmmmm...not sure...

try stopping on a hill and staying stopped. tell us if you have to keep pushing the peddle further and further toward the floor to keep the truck from starting to roll...

(if so, i will have to continue in broken record mode about the MC <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />)

glad to hear you have made progress <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
