Introducing the Isuzu MU-7 #524566 11/11/04 05:50 AM

Foreshadowing the New Trooper. Pretty nice, except for a funky rear side window. I modified it in paint, and it looks pretty good:

Its not as long as it looks. Its based off the D-MAX, and I think it would actually do pretty well off-road. But it also offers the refined style that SUV buyers demand these days.

Eh its ok.

It's that refined style that makes me cringe thinking about all the muddy goodness entailed with wheeling.

I guess it would be good for camping, or if someone did some udderly awesome custom work (A La Gilberts Trooper). Other than that, Ima have to look once and walk on.

To save you from board-jumping and coming back, here's the post from the other board. EDIT: Now with fixed link goodness![/quote]
Thanks to yodying at CSS for uncovering this news. It seems Southeast Asia is getting a new D-MAX based SUV called "MU-7". MU (stands for Mysterious Utility) was the name for Amigo/Rodeo Sport in Asia. It seems nice, except I cant say I like the rear side window curve. It needs to be an edge shaped window. I have included pics that I modified that window to suit it better to American tastes. I think this is the first bite of the New Trooper.

ISUZU MU-7-

My modified pics (looks pretty good, kind of Grand Cherokee like):

What do you guys think? Try commenting on my altered version, because that is more like the TR Adventure Master, and more likely of the version we will get. The Thai version suits their tastes better, and will battle with the new Toyota Fortuner.

if it doesn't have 70/30 split rear doors, it's POJ. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I agree , I severely dislike the all in one gull wing style rear hatches you see on just about every SUV on the planet.

I dunno, I like the revised styling a lot better than the original, but the true apple of my eye is that solid rear axle still hanging out underneath the back end. Amen, Go Isuzu, thank you very much for not selling out to the IRS that's becoming more and more popular these days....

But hey, what's a matter, they didn't design a front-end for this thing? One of my favorite parts of most Isuzus is the headlight/grill combo... No pics of the front?

It will be nice if Isuzu makes a simple 12/12 front and rear combo. IMHO the rear of my truck rides way softer than the IFS in the front.

Ya gotta forgive me for asking the obvious question... What exactly is a simple 12/12 front/rear combo?

I'm gonna wing it here.... maybe an Isuzu 12-bolt front and rear? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
