The truck is nice but it will have no room in the USA market unless they will equip it with deisel for USA. It not, I see no consumer interest for a new non-Toyota/non-Honda big SUV, given current gas prices. I hope they will put diesel in it for the USA market. Their direct-injection gas engine, as good as it is, is no longer enough for the current situation.

I completely agree! Something like the body of a 1st Gen with the power and comfort of a 2nd Gen...I'd be on it like a bonnet. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Come on. I'd personally buy such a 1Gen/2Gen combination, but I am sure that nobody around in vicinity of 50 miles will. People currently are buying 1Gens only becouse they are cheap. Imagine a 1Gen troop with a $40K sticker and you will get an idea.

really? how about the Mercedes G-Wagon? and the much-anticipated Cross Lander? And the lamest example of all...the Hummer? Yeah, you're right...nobody wants a boxy SUV. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> BTW, where did you get the $40K price tag? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

[ really? how about the Mercedes G-Wagon? well, if Mercedes will let Isuzu to put the brand "Mercedes" on the Trooper, it will sell... "Mercedes Trooper" would be a hot sell item ! Also, keep in mind how capable/powerful/etc the G-Wagen is. Let's be honest, Isuzu cannot do anything like that. and the much-anticipated Cross Lander?
this vehicle does not exist. And the lamest example of all...the Hummer?
this is special-purpose niche vehicle playing on the military/legacy tunes. On what phsyco field the boxy Trooper will play ? Yeah, you're right...nobody wants a boxy SUV. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
that's right. BTW, where did you get the $40K price tag? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
Just looking at vehicles of the comparable size and features. $40K for a gas vehicle, $45-$50K for a diesel one. Oleg

I forgot one of the most popular boxy SUVs around...the Land Rover Discovery. Do you not notice all the soccer moms and yuppie dads who already drive 2nd Gen Troopers all over our freeways? (whoops...I just implicated myself) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
