 Some quick help with trailer plug wires

Hey,
I am wiring up a plug for trailer lights and once again my worthless Chilton book has the wrong info. I have found the GRN/BLK = Left rear turn signal and I found the GRN/RED = Tail lights but the 3rd wire (right turn signal)in the book says it should be GRN/BLU (1990 trooper) but there is no GRN/BLU wire. There is however a GRN/Yellow dash wire I am assuming that this is the proper wire. Can anyone confirm this for me? I would just test it but my tester is at a job site,I am not and need to get this done. thanks

I just checked my disassembled tailights on my 89 trooper.
I've they seem to check out with what your Chilton manual says...
My advise, take apart your taillights check to see which wire is different on either side at the plug. There'll be a red, a black, a green wire on both sides. Go with the ones that are different.... good luck!

I have wiring that is connected behind the panel on the drivers side of the rig just inside the rear door. However, not long ago I had the panel on the right side off for something and discovered a wiring harness stuffed down inside behind the wheel well. It appeared to be unused and factory. Has anyone else ever found this harness?

You are probably going to need to buy a universal trailer light convertor. Since the Troopers have separate brake and turn signal bulbs it will not work with the normal 4 wire hookup. They have the convertors at most any auto parts stores, boat dealers, or X-Mart stores that carry trailer wiring type stuff. I got lucky and found one on clearance for about 5 bucks but they are normally less than $20. IIRC...I pulled my tail light assemblies out and wired directly into the wires behind them. The converter I have is like the one at the bottom of THIS PAGE.
