ok well this is a continuation from this post.

So, I thought about it and things were adding up, I was starting to agree with Stan_Marshell about the MC being bad....so I bought a new one.
put it in, bleed it and still had the same problem..... took it up to break check to have them pressure bleed it, thinking that with a new MC and still no peddle there had to be air.

After I blew $30 on it I still have no peddle --first pump no pressure, second a little and on the third it works. And "Brake Check" say's the MC's bad.

So heres the catch, the MC was re-manufactured from "O'Rileys"....I found out after I bought it, and being told it was NEW! ...

Does this sound like the case to yall? Do you really think that evan after I put another MC in I still would have the exact same probloum?...How often are re-manufactured MCs bad? I have no clue what elce it could be?

Thanks again! -Corey

I don't alway buy OEM, but I fersure always buy "new"....Just personal experience that goes back 30-35 years...that was when most shops rebuilt them using kits and drill driven hones....those they rebuilt never lasted very long.

So it was cool when parts stores started offering new MC and wheel cylinders at a decent price. Sure beat gettng them from the dealer or installing a kit....And they seemed to last a long time compared to rebuilt.

I ain't gonna say it's fersure the MC....But if I was you I would just go ahead and get it over with. I would jack her up and do a full brake job including hoses and fluid.

Use new loaded calipers, new wheel cylinders, rear shoes, perhaps new rear springs and hardware, new hard lines if signs of rust.....the whole works.

Body Damage is Cool
I've had master cylinders bad when brand new. And, some bad rebuilds. Normally, it was a problem with the metal being damaged or porous. Only name brand that I've consistently had problems with is Fisher. I simply avoid them.

As for getting several bad in a row, doubt it. Most likely, it was the very common problem of air entrapment in your system. Very few people bleed up high. That's a shame as it's very effective and easy. Far more effective and easier then trying to start out working down at the wheel cylinders.

i replied in your other thread. I had a bad replacement master cylinder. pulling my hair out... replaced the NAPA MC with a TOYOTA dealer MC and bada bing! I've been learning that lately, napa's quality has been slipping. 5yrs ago.. I'd swear by them. in the past 1.5yrs I've had bad A/C compressors, brake calipers, master cylinders etc... I'm not as fond as napa as I used to be. I'll buy my hoses from them b/c napa has good "USA" hoses. My primary source for parts... TOYOTA As for your master.. don't be suprised if the part you put on is worse than the one you took off!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of "Lifetime Warranty Crap". Took my friend three tries on an MC from Kargen and then it only worked for a year. OEM is the best but if you can find a aftermarket "New" one that is second best. Remanufactured brake stuff sucks, and it is my life and others lifeÆs that are at stake.

i paid the $187 from my local dealer, after i put the napa "new" on there which cost me around $60, and 2 wks later i was wheeling, trying to climb a hill and the brakes gave out... came sliding down backwards and slammed into a tree. thank god i had my custom rear bumper on, which uprooted the 50' tall 6" diamter oak tree. We have it on Video and pictures. that was good enough for me.... time to hit the dealer. I was lucky nobody got hurt and only my bumper got scratched.

I have a reman AISIN from some place in Canada. Maybe I won't use it afterall.
Hells Bells, isn't there some kinda legal recourse for unsafe brake parts.
That's just plane insane. Don't want ta sound like "Micheal Moore" but somebody should call 60 Minutes or 20/20 or some other investigative reporting TV show. Better yet, let's petition Ralph Nader to write another book called "Unsafe Brakes at Any Speed...The Truth Behind Remanufactured Parts"

HEH, HEH...wait a minute, that idea ain't funny.

I read somewhere that 40% of the cost of a new ladder is to cover the manufacturer's liability insurance....cause people tend to fall off ladders and sue the ladder maker.

Maybe someday bullets will be 20 bucks each cause they tend to poke holes in people's soft parts....And screw drivers will be 30 bucks cause they have a pointy end that poked out some 350Lb guy's eye when he fell of his 250LB rated ladder.

And MacDonald's coffee will be frosty cause folks try to drink and drive.

Nah....we don't need all that.

All we need to remember is if we wanna pretend we are real men, then when we pick up a wrench, be willing to take responsibility for our mistakes.
