My MC started locking up on me in my old 87 4Runner so I bought a Toyota rebuild kit. I took the MC off the truck and took it apart and cleaned everything and rebuilt it. I put it back in the truck and only had to bleed it at the MC and I had awesome brakes. Kind of scary hearing all these rebuilts going bad. Guess I'll stick with OEM and rebuild kits.

funny huh. I have been driving and working on junk for over 30 years. so I have made alot of errors.
I would rather spend 20 bucks at the junk yard for a part then 45 for the rebuilt life time crap. I have done very well this way. if I can not find the part at the junk yard then it is the dealer.

oh here is a bit of information for ya. went to buy the auto lock front hubs for my wife's explorer, guess what? the junk yard would not sell me a set. the dealer wanted 400.00 per either side or both I don't remember now.
but since the junk yard would not sell them, well you know that!! they are junk. so bought a set of warn's 200 bucks for two and included the nuts and other conversion crap.
so when calling the junk yard and they say they don't have it ask them. don't have it or won't sell it.

I went through about four rebuilt clutch MCs before I had enough of it -- each lasted less than six months. Went to Toyota and have not had a problem with it since.

When you figure out how much your time is worth, some of these low buck "deals" are pretty durn expensive!
