Thanks for posting up, Scott. I had intended to but wanted to talk to you 1st. Arthur was a good friend and we'll all miss him. Alot.
The memorial was wonderful to say the least... standing room only tells you how many lives he touched. He was an amazing person with a beautiful family that was the most important thing in his life, but he always had time for his friends.
Here is a poem that I think is fitting.
I give you this one thought to keep-
I am with you still- I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone-
I am with you still- in each new dawn.
I dont really know what else to say... I miss him. I miss him stopping by the shop unexpectedly right when I had a thousand jobs on the go, and him calling me a slacker
I miss his take no prisoners "go hard or go home" wheeling style, and I can directly thank him for that rubbing off on me Half the fun of our wheeling trips was the race to and from the trail... anyone who says Troopers are prone to tip while under hard corner or high-speed sudden manouvers shoulda done a few runs with us. 4 wheel drifts doing 100km/h on a forest sevice road with the gas pedal mashed, trying to keep up to Arthur, was the norm not the exception, and that kinda sums up Art. As you said Scott, bigger, better, faster.
My and Lisa's thoughts are with Patti, kids, and the rest of the family.
Scott, I'll call you this week. We need to plan that work party.
