Roll Me Over
Scott,

Glad to hear Joel made it out.
I had a prior commitment to be in Seattle over the weekend, but my thoughts were with the group.

...that was some trail ride, wasn't it. Good memories of a great day.

Amazing how strong the friendships can become through 4x4wire.

Body Damage is Cool
jessus...

Wish I knew about the memorial, I would've driven all the way up there. I was just organing pics last night, from the BC ZU FEST on my computer. Great guy.

My prayers are with his family, the PNWIOR will miss ya.

We have a run this Saturday, we'll dedicate it in his honor. Anyone want to change the thread to reflect. "The PNWIOR Art Memorial Run?"

Thanks for posting up, Scott. I had intended to but wanted to talk to you 1st. Arthur was a good friend and we'll all miss him. Alot.
The memorial was wonderful to say the least... standing room only tells you how many lives he touched. He was an amazing person with a beautiful family that was the most important thing in his life, but he always had time for his friends.

Here is a poem that I think is fitting.

I give you this one thought to keep-
I am with you still- I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone-
I am with you still- in each new dawn.

I dont really know what else to say... I miss him. I miss him stopping by the shop unexpectedly right when I had a thousand jobs on the go, and him calling me a slacker
I miss his take no prisoners "go hard or go home" wheeling style, and I can directly thank him for that rubbing off on me Half the fun of our wheeling trips was the race to and from the trail... anyone who says Troopers are prone to tip while under hard corner or high-speed sudden manouvers shoulda done a few runs with us. 4 wheel drifts doing 100km/h on a forest sevice road with the gas pedal mashed, trying to keep up to Arthur, was the norm not the exception, and that kinda sums up Art. As you said Scott, bigger, better, faster.

My and Lisa's thoughts are with Patti, kids, and the rest of the family.

Scott, I'll call you this week. We need to plan that work party.

Joel, I could not have said it better myself.

one time really sticks out. As Don eluded to, Arthur was way ahead of a train of us, foot to the floor on a 2 wheel track through the bush, there was a wash out which if hit at speed gave you tons of air time and not an insignificant amount of terror.

Arthur hit it first, then pulled over and got out of the way and sat back to watch the fun. I was next, hit it at around 60MPH, got at least 3 feet of air all 4 wheels and as I was trying to figure out how to land I saw him up the road laughing his face off at me.

I had as a passenger a techie that I work with who had never been off road before. He went white with fear.

LOL that day was awesome! I knew about the washout from a previous run with Art, when we both got some serious air... I remember honking my horn like mad to warn Don who was in front of me, then watched as he launched like a prerunner (for some reason I didnt think of flashing my lights )
I also seem to remember someone falling in the creek going up wilson and dropping their camera into a nice deep pool And of course Don's heroic rescue of said camera. Who'd of known that dive training would pay off on a wheeling trip
Good times and good memories. Thanks Arthur

What a shock to hear about Art! If I had been in state, I would of come up, too. I hope he knew in life how many lives he touched.

I really enjoyed wheeling with him (and you all) at the BC Zu Fest. Patti & the girls were great fun, too - they KNEW how to set up a camp! Getting that big trailer down that trail/former access road was an amazing feat.

If I recall correctly, he was one of the three BC Troopers I followed up to the washout. You all made going over those huge logs look easy! Not so for me! After the event I remember hearing about Art's plans to go bigger - and as you've all said, it was no surprise to hear about them!

Patti and family, you are all in my prayers...
