yes it is common knowledge and your dealer shoudl have told you this..


they replaced them free of charge for 99 and earlier trucks i believe, because almost every truck according to my dealer broke its springs...

i broke them in my taco, and got a set, new with an add a leaf from a local spring shop for about $300 and have been all set. my truck is a 2000 and i hardly ever have any large amount of weight in the back of it
