Getting the Wheeling Fever
I think shaunyg is onto something. I looked at mine last night and found that the retractor works perfectly fine if I bypass the anchor at the height adjuster. The hang up seems to be at that slider. As if the slot for the belt is too tight. I am going to try and file that slot and make it bigger therefore allowing the belt more room to move. I'll update after the holiday.

I'm looking into the top anchor as well. I want to get some super-fine grit paper (emery cloth) and open her up a wee bit there. And if I open it too much, I am searching for a solution, that if it works, I will post it here first!

BTW, my Connector part of the seat belt (at the floor) is not latching as well as it used to. Takes some attempts before it secures. Guess I should buy two new ones from Gettel. Drvr and Pssgr sides. (red is all faded to pink swirly crap)

HAPPY TURKEY DAY! I'm off to Upstate NY for some rain and hunting!

I dunno. I tried that emory cloth thing a while back. Then I tried using a coating of wax on the slot to make it more slippery. Still slams in the door.

I did the emery cloth thing a while back, and it helped quite a bit. I got pretty aggressive with it, but I think it needs a bit more. On a more positive note, my kids are 10, 8, and 6, and they all know to straighten the seatbelt and make sure it is fully retracted before they shut the door. Proper diet and training................

Lol.. well good on your kids. My wife, on the other hand, isn't bothered with looking and I pretty much always catch it. My belt doesn't retract even if straight ~ I have to push it into the slot on the side. My problem most of the time is that the belt is shut in the door when I'm getting in to go for a drive. I'd normally just put my belt on before shutting the door, but it's been near 10*f in the mornings lately and I want to shut the door ASAP.

I've tried the sanding thing, I've tried cleaning everything off with GooGone, I've tried soaking parts of the belt (the first part to hit the shoulder adjuster, and the part where it normally gets stuck), and all the other suggestions. It's not snagging on anything that I can tell, it just doesn't retract. I'm going to cut the spring down by about 1/4~1/3rd to see if that helps give it some snap. If not, then I'm going to look into getting springs from other vehicles to try and install.....

Sucks that there's not a well known and established resolution that works 100% of the time.

Cheers,
