You CAN do it, it just takes time and some "building blocks" to develop the skills and knowledge.

A confidence boost might come from finding some local 4x4 clubs/groups/associations. Ask around and you'll find them in almost every town/city.

It all starts with doing something small and gradually building up to more "technical" skills.

Some years ago, I couldn't have pointed out the alternator from the power steering pump if you'd have asked me. We all start at "0". Some just start learning "how-to" sooner than others.

Couple years ago, I rebuilt an '86 Samurai from basically a pile of parts. Then did some nice body work too, if I say so myself! Then bought a MIG welder.....well, you get the picture!
