YUP, that's it.

280-157 is the part # she quoted me. $183 CDN ( approx $150 US ) * Just called and she is confirming availabilty*

Not that it matters much. It is still cheaper to go with a hand-bent setup and Topaz muffler. The Topaz muffler ( Speedy # 27015 ) has the same strange angle bends and can be welded to fit. It just lacks the 18" of pipe out the rear. Plus, they said they will honour the lifetime warranty if it is done with all clamp fittings. ( Easy replacement for them in the future)

And yes, that's for my 2 DR V6.

The OEM part is US$146 @ mitsubishiparts.net. Of course, shipping will add a bit but I'd rather go OEM than aftermarket (considering the price is pretty much the same) any day.

*If* you're keeping the truck and the Topaz only lasts a year (like the last one) it won't be cheaper (at least not in the long-run).

I went aftermarket custom. I have a turbo muffler placed up and out of the way. The tail pipe is 2.25" and the front pipe is 2.5".

I have had the system for five years with no problems. It is quite but that is in part due to the turbocharger ahead of the turbo muffler.

At some point I plan on going 2.5" out the back.

I did not want to deal wth the factory setup at all.

Kevin,

I know it's been five years but do you remember how much you paid?

About 320 US including a hi flow cat. This was a complete system from the engine back. They spent a fial amount of time on it, hence the high price.

The cat was about $170... I could have bought the smae part mail order for less... But that is how it goes when you get the whole system done.

JC Whitney is a good cheap source. Another is to have a muffler shop bend them for you. Take your old system off and take it to them to copy. I went with a cheap $12 glass pack muffler. It sounds great and lasts for years.

Thanks guys for the input, I still have some pricing issues to deal with. Heard some sound clips of glass pack mufflers...sounds pretty good.

I don't know about the hand-bent custom stuff. Maybe it's cheaper there, but on the quote they wanted $50 for the after-cat 12" piece, and $125 for the after muffler 20" piece..stupid rip-off muffler shops.

I'll post when decided
