I gave up on the 93 Troop with the valve ticking, the Mobil 1 0w30 worked for fifty thousand extra miles, but at 166,000 it wasn't worth putting all new rockers into to fix that valve rattle. All due to the "too small" oil port in the SOHC engine. This was probably a result of poor maintenance in its first 100K, I'll never know.


This is what happened to me, Yes the Mobil 1 0W30 DOES WORK (Isuzu TSB). I think mine was already too far gone when I learned of the problem. The previous owner let some sludge build-up in the motor that added to the problem.
