I am getting the truck back together now (95 runner 5sp w/ 3vze, that one little stray head bolt washer came in today from toyota, so the heads are now tourqued, got the manifoldas on, and the crossive and down pipe all bolted up. I started to put the cams in when I noticed that on my right cam on the #1 cap on the part of the cam the cap rests on, at the rear on the raised ridge, two pieces are broken off. I am assuming that this is important. Probably something to do w/ oil pressure and such. (will try to post pics tommorrow). I am guessing that I did not remove the cam caps in the proper order thus causing the damage.

1. Is this important?

2. does anyone have a spare cam lying around?

3. are cams like cranks in that each has a specific bearing size.

a. where do I find this info, or do I just get new bearings w/ the new cam?

Yep, looks like I'm going to keep feeding the MR2 oil as I'm commuting about 350 miles each weekend, damn I can't wait to get my truck back! I think the gas my truck guzzles is cheaper that the oil my MR2 is burning.
