Shackles amd alignment done yet?

I'm curious if you had to shim your shocks as the instructions say? I can't tell from your pics. Do you have to have a lift installed before doing the spacer, or would it work on stock as well?

Chris, don't encourage him! I'm sure his wife would prefer that Joel be packing boxes for their big upcoming move soon....

No mods for you!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Joel, you can use the ball joint spacer with or without a lift(body or suspension) I am also planning to do this mod in the near future. Here is a link to the thread over on the 4-wheeling forum. Linky
That should answer all of your questions.

4x, I would like to know how the shackle setup is going to work for ya. IIRC the stock Tacoma shackles are about a inch shorter than the stock T100 ones. Please keep us updated, (can ya tell I am very interested <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/coolg.gif" alt="" />)

Any info on how many of these elripster has left? I'm very interested as well. If he only has a limited amount I may have to move sooner rather than later. I'd lift the rear with Alcans... have them built to lift and carry extra weight.

Yes we are moving, but maybe she'll remember me at Christmas time. Actually, I know she will and Adam may be hearing from her soon. =)

Body Damage is Cool

Nope, I didn't need to shim my shocks... Still had room at full droop. Could be a problem if I disco'ed my sway bar; Eh, cross that bridge when I get there... That's a few projects away. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

Alignment is done... Although I think I may take it back in; They left a little positive camber (1-1.5%) & I think they can do better(<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mrt.gif" alt="" />), so I'll pay them a visit later in the week. Tomorrow is Doestch Tech Steering Stabilizer day! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Didn't do the Daystar shackles after all... 4WP was being hinkey about when they were actually going to arrive. While I would like to get a set of Alcans, I can't truly justify it right now (I am still unemployed, after all <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />), so instead now I've purchased a set of shackles from AOR. They're 1.5", but just as before I'll be redrilling & trimming. As for the Taco, not sure but fwiw I can't see it being a different length from the factory, as the few places I've seen with shackles list the Taco with the T for the same amount of lift.

So the long & short of it (no pun intended) is I cranked the front back down an inch (so still up .5" from before), but no rub up front yet - even turning under compression! As for the rear, I had to remove the mudflaps; They hung just a little too close. With 'em off, plenty of room. Can't completely stuff the rear, but I made 2 dump runs of 1000 lbs each today without any rubbing in the rear (and I tried <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />).

I'll take some pics sometime tomorrow (if/when it stops raining) & get them up here... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Btw... Nobody answered my ? - Anybody know if the T's leaf spring bushings are the type that pop out easliy or are they the kind you have to burn out?
Also, Joel: He's got all the spacers you could want... Not a short run item. He'll still have 'em when you get done moving, or you could do like me & sit on 'em until you get around to it (read: 9 months <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />).

Thanks for the update <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/coolg.gif" alt="" />

I have also seen where other sites list the same shackle for the Taco and the T with the same lift. But I got curious and took the tape measure to my dads Taco and then to my T and found that they where similar in design but the Tacos were 1 inch shorter. Also I have heard that people who got the AOR shackles for their Tacos said that they got more lift than advertised. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Anyway let us know how the AOR shackles go, I just ordered a set of the 1.5 spacers and I was thinking of doing that or getting the all-pro johnny joint shackle mounts and custom shackles. Link

Your truck look good on the 35's btw. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

The camber reminded me of a Ford my uncle used to have... I-beam? Sumthin' like that. Only drove about 40 miles like that & it was enough... Damn thing cornered like a pig.

Didn't know about the Taco thing... But I suppose too much lift is better than not enough, right? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> I wonder how much the johnny joints would add in flex to our rear?

Today wasn't steering stabilizer day - It's wifezilla's b-day! I'm safe though; Bought the gift a few weeks ago! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Looks good! I like the big-tires-with-minimal-lift look. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/coolg.gif" alt="" />
I've considered something like this and removing my bodylift, but I'm not sure it would be worth the effort.

(BTW, I edited the title of your post to make it a little more descriptive in searches, etc.)

Just an FYI, but you can now get the spacers at www.4crawler.com and www.toyotaofdallas.com and they take credit cards.
