I found myself in a very slippery muddy situation today, with the truck on a slight slope and wet grass underneath. Had it not been for the REVOs, I would not have been able to get out of the spot I was in. I am well aware of what both TRAC and VSC do - so I am again bringing this subject to the top. The only way I did get going was to have the center diff locked and the pedal mashed to the floor. I did get quite a bit of tirespin, but not without gobs of ABS noise, etc. I have owned the truck since new, and have lived with these issues, but today brought me over the top. If I had been able to defeat both systems, I would have been able to simply floor it and power my way out. Without the center diff locked, the truck just sat there, engine throttled back and the ABS kicking. A few seconds would pass and the computer would allow a bit more spinning before again halting everything. Very, very frustrating! I know this has come up on many ocassions, so I hope that somebody has made headway with a safe method of temporarilly defeating this crap. Potentially using the factory TRAC OFF switch from the 2WDs. Let's not have this become another pissing match where everyone attempts to completely define what each system does - it's old news Andreas

On my wifes Sequoia I unplugged a sensor on the brake master cylinder. This disabled the VSC and traction control but the ABS functions normally. On the Sequoia it was the sensor farthest forward and on the bottom of the master cylinder. If I was to wire in a toggle switch to one of the wires at the sensor I could select off or on. I just leave it unhooked because I cannot stand the vehicle driving for me.

Hmm - need to research this. How did you find out what connector it was? Would you mind snapping a pic to see how similar the setups are? What warning lights if any has this caused?
Thanks for the reply, Andreas

It's been a long time since I unhooked it. I believe I pulled up a wiring scematic and traced out what sensors were for what system. I would put up a picture but am not sure if I know how. The VSC OFF and VSC TRAC lights stay on anytime the sensor is unplugged.

Manson, Thanks for the replies. I signed up for the .NET Passport and still have not been able to access your pic. Is there a way for you to simply email it to me?

Either post it or send it to me to post after. This has been an elusive mod that many have tried and failed for quite some time. If this works, it would solve the riddle!

I looked at my master cylinder yesterday and have a total of 5 plugs around the thing. I am not sure which one if any to unplug.
02 4x4 Sport OME goodies and Brigestone 285's Flowmaster 50 series(too loud), Alpine in-dash, with a suppertrapp on the tail-pipe to shut the thing up.
